Drew's Flat Stanley

Drew sent his Flat Stanley to visit his Uncle Jake, who is a police officer. Flat Stanley learned a lot about what police officers do. Flat Stanley helped direct traffic at an accident scene. Flat Stanley learned it is important to always wear your seat belt!

Another day Flat Stanley was with Uncle Jake when he pulled over a car on a traffic stop. Police officers often pull over cars because the driver did something he or she shouldn't have done. Uncle Jake reminded the driver of the rules. Flat Stanley learned it is important to follow all the rules!

Flat Stanley also met a dispatcher. The dispatcher answers 9-1-1 calls and sends help to the caller. Flat Stanley learned that in an emergency you should call 9-1-1 for help.

Flat Stanley couldn't believe how much paper work Uncle Jake had to do! Uncle Jake says he spends a couple hours every day writing reports. This helps the officers know what happened during the day in case they have to go back and review it.

Flat Stanley had a great time with Uncle Jake!!! Thank you, Uncle Jake, for the police officer stickers!

Jacob's Flat Stanley

Jacob sent his Flat Stanley to visit his Mamaw and Papaw Hoeltke in Lake Placid, Florida where they spend the winter!

Flat Stanley loved the sunny weather and enjoyed boat rides on Lake Clay.

He also got to play with two newly hatched Sandhill Cranes and their protective parents in the mobile home park!

Flat Stanley got to see an alligator, but thankfully, it was not alive!

They had a long drive back to Indiana but Flat Stanley got to see a lot of states!

Thank you for a great adventure!

Liam's Flat Stanley

Liam sent Flat Stanley with Aunt Kellie and Uncle Chris to visit Bryce at Fort Benning in Georgia! On the way to visit Bryce, Flat Stanley stopped to meet some friend of Uncle Chris. They took his picture with a big metal flower!

After a long drive, they finally arrived at Fort Benning! They had to get up really early to make it through the Main Gates of Fort Benning. Flat Stanley was watching for Bryce!

The first person they met was one of Bryce's Drill Sargeants. He made Flat Stanley do push ups!

Flat Stanley finally got to meet Bryce! Bryce had to stand at attention for 3 hours during the "Turning Green" ceremony! Bryce received his beret and became a US Army Soldier!!

Flat Stanley had a great visit! Thank you!

Micah's Flat Stanley

Micah sent his Flat Stanley to visit his Aunt Melissa, Uncle John and cousin, Olivia, in Springfield, Illinois.

Flat Stanley had a great time playing with Olivia.

He helped Uncle John paint a play kitchen for Olivia's birthday. (Shh! Don't tell!)
He attended school one day at Trinity Lutheran. He liked to see what the first graders did at their school! It was a lot like ours!
Flat Stanley enjoyed celebrating Easter at church with the family!

Flat Stanley also learned that Abraham Lincoln lived in Springfield before was president.

They went to see the Old State Capital Building, Lincoln's home, and his final resting place.

We stopped by Cozy Dog and had a yummy snack! Thank you for an amazing trip!!

Flat Stanley visits Clarinda Lutheran School

Our Class sent a Flat Stanley to visit Micah’s former classmates at Clarinda Lutheran School in Clarinda, Iowa.

Micah talks a lot about Iowa and we wanted to learn all about it!

Mrs. Espinosa and the class showed him all around the school.

They found a copy of Flat Stanley's book in the library!

He visited the playground, learned in the classroom and met many new friends!
We enjoyed reading the letters the kids wrote about where they would take Flat Stanley if they had more time to visit!
Thank you Clarinda Lutheran School!
